I have seen "traffic islands" called and sigh posted Rotunda and also Glorieta are they the same? if not what is the difference.

A rotunda is a normal roundabout where as a glorieta is normally larger and more like a one way system around a large roundabout often with buildings on the roundabout. There is a rotunda labelled as a glorieta just out side San Miquel which a Spanish guy told me must have been labelled by an inbred.
