Hi Nottsman
I teach Photoshop so will try and help.
You can scan a few in one go. When you open in Photoshop crop to one of the photos and then go to File 'save as' and call it say number 1. Open the History palette in photoshop (you'll find it under 'windows' on the top tool bar. In history click at the top so it goes back to where you first opened the photo.
2 Now you can crop the 2nd photo on the page and repeat the processs, go to 'Save As' and name this one number 2.
Repeat until all photos on the scanned image are saved separately.
Make sure you know where you are saving them, create a folder called 'Scanned Images' in 'My Pictures'.
Hope that helps a bit
Sue
