I think both sides were unable to foresee the future. The Brexiteers wanted control of their borders, leave the jurisdiction of the Eu Court of Justice and stop paying obscene amounts of money into Eu coffers. The remainers wanted everything to stay the same which is why Juncker didn't publish his future plans to have an EU force with possible conscription , an EU tax number and more integration, until after the referendum. Oh yes and a European combined Border force and Finance Minister.

Again that’s another good post. It’s a complicated issue Brexit. I find it incredible that humble barbers and taxi drivers and cake shop workers have such a knowledge of global economics and global law and were able to make such an informed decision on referendum day. They say our education system is failing but obviously not.

Everytime i read one of your posts .... I'm convinced that the Education system HAS failed, Mr Jones.
There's no other explanation for such nonsense .

Are you saying that everyone who voted really understood the implications of leaving, understood how a product created from multiple components from multiple locations would change in price after all the associated taxes had been implied and furthermore understood the threat to working conditions at the source of creation for the multiple components and final product. The growth of the uk economy is measured in fractions of a percent, are you honestly saying that the 17 year old girl in McDonald’s flipping burgers really understands all this stuff that gives us the final number ?

No offence to burger flippers.

In your earlier post above you admitted to not understanding what the Brexit vote meant----but all of a sudden you are an expert in what burger flippers know or don't know-----you can't make this up--- :D

Taxi tout, barber, whatever brabba does, just grow up and accept that even the pundits on the tv have not got a clue where we are going and that goes for the dopes who insist they knew what Brexit was 2 years ago. Rspltd has it sussed why don’t you get some tuition from him ?

Kev - the implication of what YOU are saying is that the majority of voters aren't intelligent enough to vote, even in a general election, which covers more issues and is far more complicated than an EU referendum?

That will be lost on him---if he hasn't worked that out before he posted such poor comprehension-----he never will---------Well spotted Sheff----Jonesy is not the smartest cookie and that is obvious---but even by his low standards --this is complete nonsense :D

Whatever the level of intelligence of the voter, whatever their circumstances it was obvious to most that the UK was giving the EU considerable sums of money and could see little benefit coming from it. For those of us of a certain age we still remember the wine lake and butter mountain fiasco and the controversy over the amount of land that was being subsidised for the purpose of growing olives by the Italians. More recently people slightly younger can see the idiotcy of moving the EU from Strasburg to Brussel and back on a regular basis. Similarly wasteful.
Voters could also see the injustice in some of the decisions of the EU court of justice whereby people that no-one wanted to incude in their populations, were allowed to stay in the country and go on to commit more crime.
Finally they could see the chaos in Europe caused by the influx of immigrants (or more correctly economic migrants) and the inability of the EU to deal with it in a meaningful way.
Now there are some that say that all this is worth it for the purposes of trading with the EU. After all if you are a member of a club you shoud pay a membership but who knows of a club whereby only five members pay and the rest are paid for participating? However membership of the EU doesn't allow member countries to negotiate trade deals with other countries and the Commissioner for Trade is a university professor from Sweden whose degree was in politics. Perhaps that is why very few trade deals have been made ( or completed) with other countries in recent years.

The above were obvious, well publicised and related in the press and I would suggest for these reasons alone the 'burger flipper' could well have wanted to leave the EU.
