recently got ¨upgraded´by avatel (tv horadada) from 50 megabytes to 300 megabytes and thinking may get 150-200 megabytes (optimistic) as they also installed a new 5G router but unless you have a 1000 € plus mobile that has 5G or a brand new Laptop/PC or TV you will still only get 50 megabytes which i personally i think is a bit of a advertising con.

Well I`m with Scansat at the moment on their Wimax internet.
I pay for 8MB but get well over 10MB. ..
They are doing a deal at the moment with 300mb Simetric for €9.95 a month for four months then €24.90 a month thereafter.
They are coming on Monday morning to install it.
Considering I am paying €23 a month for 10MB at the moment it`s really a no-brainer going Fibre Optic for that price.
Watch this space and the results of the speedtest. :D

Lucky you
Make sure you have a router capable of downloading and uploading that speed not many will most are 150mbps
I`ve already checked with them
They are replacing my TP-Link wireless router – TL-WR940N ( 450Mbps) with a Huawei HG8245H fibre router .. free of charge. !!

Was quite funny seeing the engineer come round and get out his expensive tablet and Sony mobile 1200€ (company mobile and tablet)and get 280 megabytes then get his own mobile and it showed 46 megabytes just because 95% of mobiles still only 3 or 4G compatible.

I use my mobile for phone calls and messages .. nothing else.

When me and the missus go out for dinner we actually talk to each other .. unlike the majority of people around us, married or otherwise, young and old, engrossed on their I-Plods or Not So Smart phones.

I`ve got a very powerful PC at home as well as two top of the range gaming laptops.. so I don`t need to look at a little tiny screen or carry a mobile phone the size of a book to watch my entertainment. :D

I agree with you jimbo, i took my wife to the hospital the other day and while she was waiting to be attended i looked around and everyone i could see were on their mobiles, it reminded me of the stepford wifes movie , i think i was the only human being there

It`s the same wherever you go Jimmy .... !!

We went to the Captains Table for a brekkie on Tuesday morning and there was a family of five ALL on their phones.
The old man was have a belly busting greedy fat git breakfast and he was just the same. .. He cut his brekkie up into American style little pieces.. so he could eat with just his fork.
And believe it or not , I`m sure two of the kids were messaging each OTHER

We are all children of our time. A while back it would have been "they never take them damned ear phones out of their ears" or remember when we walked around with a transistor radio or ghetto blaster. The youngsters of today will have a different gripe when they are parents.

Its such a shame people have to be transfixed to them, it is killing the art of communication and socialising , nobody talks to anyone anymore like we used to, you are lucky to get a brief glance from someone using one never mind hello
Its not hard to understand why this generation has problems and future ones will have more

Harrodene I think you might be getting your wires crossed. The 5G acronym used in mobile telephony stands for 5th generation ie. the next step after 4g and gives increased speeds for items that have been made for 5G. The 5G in routers stands for 5 gigahertz as most routers have in the past broadcast their wifi signal in 2.4 Gigahertz they now make routers that push out the wifi in 5 gigahertz so as to not alienate people most modern routers have 2.4 and 5 Gigahertz. The new samsung phones that advertise themselves as 5g ready will depend on the carrier offering that service, nothing to do with a 5 gigahertz router.
