I hadn't ever heard of that particular bit of history. Were all the apartments bought up by the Uno,dos, tres programme as a job lot? Terrible for the people living near them. Obviously they are registered to someone and surely the Town Hall collects rates for them. They must be ready for demolition if they have been abandoned for so long.

I understood that the properties were built and sold by Masa, back in the 1980s.
A couple of my friends bought their houses new, and still live in them.
A lot of the houses are second homes for the Madrilenos, who used to come down every July and August, but as a lot of them have died off, their properties now stand empty.
My husband and I bought our house in 1997, and have paid our rates every year.
