I need to replace the lock/latch for opening a sliding balcony door. They are about 8 inches long. It is one of those press down locks. The spring has rotted away so now the latch wont engage. Are they available in places like leroy merlin or aki ? Many thanks Bee

Thanks Fred. We tried local ferreteria but no joy. We went to Leroy Merlin and they had a slightly narrower version so we bought it and used the spring for our existing one. So all good now. Bee

Have you considered drilling two holes, one at the top and one at the bottom in the middle where the doors overlap and using 2 bolts to lock the patio? We were robbed some years ago by someone putting their hands through the security gates and pushing the doors upwards...click and the locks opened.
Could not believe it but it was as simple as that. No more! Our patio is as secure as we could make it.
